Gail Jensen brings over 10 years of experience in the areas of civil litigation and trial consulting to Alaniz & Schraeder. Prior to joining Alaniz & Schraeder, Gail was an Assistant City Attorney in the Litigation Division of the San Antonio City Attorney's Office. While there, Gail handled a variety of cases involving municipal law, employment law, civil rights violations, constitutional law, personal injury, contract disputes, and premises liability. Gail practiced extensively in the state and federal court systems, taking depositions, filing and arguing dispositive motions, conducting evidentiary hearings, participating in and coordinating appellate cases, and successfully trying cases as a lead attorney in the State and Federal Court systems
Before joining the San Antonio City Attorney's Office, Gail gained significant experience in the field of jury consulting as a Senior Trial Consultant with the San Antonio office of a national jury consulting firm. Her work as a trial consultant involved jury selection, witness preparation, trial strategy in complex litigation, mock trials and focus groups. Gail's trial consulting allowed her to use her Masters degree in Psychology in tandem with her law degree to broaden the depth of her understanding of trial work and trial strategy.
At Alaniz & Schraeder, Gail has represented employers in all types of employment disputes, including individual claims of wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination and retaliation, on the job injuries, and complex class actions involving claims of discrimination and retaliation. Such representation has been in both the administrative arena, with the EEOC, OSHA, the Texas Workforce Commission and other state administrative agencies, as well as in the litigation arena in state and federal courts across the country. Gail relies upon her litigation and trial consulting experience to evaluate cases and to develop trial strategies which will be most persuasive to judges and juries. In addition, through her experience, Gail has developed the unique insight of being able to anticipate what actions are vulnerable to legal attack, and she uses that insight to counsel clients in the most appropriate ways to avoid litigation.
Gail received her Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude from Trinity University, and her J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law. Gail also received a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy from Our Lady of the Lake University. In San Antonio, Gail was extremely active with the San Antonio Bar Association and the Bexar County Women's Bar Association. She is a member of the Labor and Employment Section of the State Bar of Texas, and licensed to practice in Texas and in federal court.
