Originally born in El Salvador, Jenny immigrated to the United States as a young child. Her family settled in Pacifica, CA where she spent her childhood. Growing up, Jenny was driven by her desire to help individuals who could not help themselves. Jenny has always been an advocate of individual rights which naturally led her to study law. Jenny is a native Spanish speaker.
During law school, Jenny interned at the Eviction Defense Collaborative of San Francisco, defending unlawful detainer actions. During her volunteer work at Cooperative Restraining Order Clinic (CROC), Jenny interviewed and aided victims in obtaining restraining orders and child custody orders against their abusers.
As a Graduate Fellow Attorney for the Women's Employment Rights Clinic of Golden Gate University, Jenny advocated client's rights in the areas of employment law, wage and hour, and discrimination law. Jenny opened and managed her own law practice, Law Office of Jenny Jerez, and helped individuals with family law matters including dissolution of marriage, spousal support, child support and child custody, property settlements and domestic violence restraining orders. Jenny focused on alternative dispute resolution and studied collaborative family practice.
Jenny received her law degree from Golden Gate University in San Francisco and has a B.A. in Political Science from California State University/ Hayward. Before joining Boxer & Gerson, LLP as an associate attorney in the Workers’ Compensation practice group, Jenny worked as an associate at another applicant’s firm where she litigated many cases before the WCAB.
She is a member of the the State Bar of California, the California Applicant’s Attorneys Association, the East Bay Chapter of the CAAA, and the Alameda County Bar Association.
