William I. Solomon received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1970 and his J.D. from Georgetown University in 1974. While attending Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, he was a member of the honorary societies Tau Beta Pi and Phi Lamba Upsilon.
Specializing in intellectual property law and especially patent prosecution relating to the chemical engineering field, he previously served as a patent examiner in chemical arts with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office from 1970 until 1975 and was a law clerk in 1974 at the Board of Appeals there. From 1975 until joining the firm in 1977, he served as a technical advisor to Judge Jack R. Miller of the U.S. Court of Customs and Patent Appeals.
He is admitted to the bar in the District of Columbia and Maryland and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
