Michael Snyder is a member of WilmerHale's Bankruptcy and Commercial Department. He joined the firm in 2003.
Practice
Mr. Snyder's practice focuses on bankruptcy and commercial litigation. He has served as counsel to corporate debtors and creditors in Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 bankruptcy cases, litigating preference and fraudulent conveyance actions and contested claim matters to resolution through settlement, mediation and trial, as well as on appeal.
Mr. Snyder's pro bono commitments include the representation – with the Federal Public Defenders Office acting as co-counsel – of a defendant charged with criminal bankruptcy fraud before the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, a case that culminated in an eleven-day jury trial. Mr. Snyder has also represented a not-for-profit medical center debtor in a Chapter 7 bankruptcy proceeding.
Professional Activities
Mr. Snyder is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and the American Bar Association. During law school, Mr. Snyder interned with Judge Ricardo M. Urbina of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. Prior to law school, Mr. Snyder served in the United States Peace Corps in the Slovak Republic.
