Mr. Jacques is admitted to practice law in the State of Michigan and the State of Illinois. He received a BA in English from the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he played Division 1 Football all four years of college. He received his law degree from Michigan State University College of Law.
In law school, Mr. Jacques distinguished himself as an accomplished writer by publishing an article on unconstitutional searches/seizures in the DePaul University College of Law Journal. In addition, he honed his litigation skills at the Lansing City Attorney's Office and Wayne County Corporation Counsel's office, where he prosecuted various criminal cases and involuntary commitment matters.
After law school, Mr. Jacques joined the City of Detroit Department of Law-Prosecuting Division-as a law clerk. There, he prosecuted criminal misdemeanor cases in the 36th District Court. He also worked as a clerk for a boutique criminal defense law firm in Oakland County, where he conducted research and litigation support on all criminal cases. He was hired as an Assistant State's Attorney in Illinois, where he prosecuted hundreds of misdemeanor and felony criminal cases, ranging from drunk driving to domestic assault/battery to narcotic offenses. In 2011, he joined Simon & Geherin, PLLC, where he specializes in state criminal defense, traffic/ordinance defense, juvenile delinquency matters, and driver's license restoration cases.
