Becky was born and raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana, graduating from Sam Houston High School as Valedictorian and Calcasieu Parish High School Student of the Year for 1999. She attended Texas A&M University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and graduating cum lade. While there, she served as the Texas A&M University Junior Class Vice President, the Texas A&M University Senior Class Vice President, and the Judicial Chair of the university's chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity. She was also inducted into the Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honors Society and the Order of Omega National Greek Honors Society. Becky was also a volunteer 911 operator and a volunteer emergency medical technician during her last two years at Texas A&M University.
Upon graduation in 2004, she was selected to be a White House intern in the Office of Presidential Advance in Washington, D.C. Thereafter, she was hired as the Southwest Louisiana Regional Representative for United States Senator David Vitter, managing his office for the 5-parish area of southwest Louisiana. As such, she was able to serve as a federal liaison for this area of the state during the economically devastating aftermath of Hurricane Rita in 2005, cooperating as the intermediary, through Senator Vitter, between FEMA and the impacted citizens of the region.
She was admitted to the Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center. While there, she served as both the Executive Vice President and then President of the Federalist Society. She also worked as a lobbying intern at the Louisiana Legislature, where she successfully lobbied for the passage of a $41.5 million state appropriation for the expansion and creation of federally qualified health centers, and represented battered women in the East Baton Rouge Parish Family Court as a student attorney. During her first summer in law school, she was also selected to study at Oxford University in Oxford, England with the Moritz College of Law.
After graduating from law school in 2009, Becky worked as the Law Clerk for the Thirty-eighth Judicial District Court in Cameron, Louisiana under The Honorable Penelope Q. Richard. Becky is currently an Associate Attorney for The Sanchez Law Firm in Lake Charles, Louisiana, practicing in the areas of Family Law and Criminal Law. Becky is a member of both the Louisiana State Bar Association and the Southwest Louisiana Bar Association. She enjoys cake decorating, watching old movies, knitting, and her Great Dane, Hullabaloo.
