Margaret Williams Smith is a counsel in the firm's Litigation/Controversy and Securities Departments, a member of the Investigations and Criminal Litigation and Securities Litigation and Enforcement Practice Groups and a member of the Business Trial Group. She joined the firm in 2006.
Practice
Ms. Smith’s practice focuses on representation of institutional and individual clients in securities enforcement matters, white-collar criminal cases and internal investigations. She has experience representing clients under investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, self-regulatory organizations, and in other parallel civil litigation, regulatory and criminal proceedings.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Smith clerked for the Honorable Richard W. Roberts of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
