Melanie Stofko Jablonski is an Associate in the Atlanta office and a member of the Environmental and Natural Resources Section.  Her practice involves the representation of corporations, utilities and small businesses in a wide array of state and federal environmental matters.  Melanie’s practice encompasses issues arising under the Clean Water Act, the Clean Air Act, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, Liability Act (CERCLA), the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA), the Administrative Procedures Act and the Federal Power Act, as well as state environmental laws.  Melanie’s practice spans a number of states along the eastern United States from Florida to New York.

As an industrial engineer, Melanie provides her clients with a level of technical expertise and knowledge, combined with experience in environmental matters ranging from project development to permitting and compliance to environmental litigation and enforcement actions at a state and federal level.  Melanie remains actively involved in several nationally significant environmental matters including Florida Everglades Restoration, American Reinvestment and Recovery Act application and compliance, and several EPA rulemakings.  Melanie is involved in complex environmental litigation matters in state and Federal courts including the 11^th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Melanie began her practice with a focus on energy transaction and regulatory matters and remains very active in renewable energy issues, particularly hydroelectric power projects.  She continues to represent energy and public utility companies before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), in licensing, re-licensing and compliance matters as well as administrative enforcement proceedings.  Melanie also has experience with acquisition and compliance issues associated with sustainable and alternative energy projects. 

Melanie is actively involved with the State Bar of Georgia and is a 2009 graduate of the Young Lawyer's Division Leadership Academy.  She also remains involved with the Georgia Tech Alumni Association, as well her sorority, of which she was a founding member.
