Jackson, Monica Langdon

Larry is an experienced litigator in marital and family law. He practiced for 13 years on Florida's East Coast, before moving to Fort Myers in 2004 and opening a solo practice concentrating on family law. In the fall of 2006 he brought his skills to Thompson Family Law, where he was a senior litigation associate.  Then, in January 2009, he established the Smith Family Law Center, where he is the Senior Partner.

In addition to being a busy practitioner, Larry works and contributes his time to other aspects of his profession. He was an adjunct professor of paralegal studies for several years at Atlantic Coast Institute, and has been a guest lecturer at Southwest Florida College. He is a guest columnist for several local publications. He was the founding Director of the Family Law Section of the Lee County Bar Association, and he was an officer and sat on the Board of Directors for the Association of Family Law Professionals.  He is also an officer and member of the Board of Directors for the Coralrose Foundation, a charitable organization.

Larry is the father of a young daughter and son - Brianna and Jacob.  He is a computer aficionado and a voracious reader. He has over the years been involved in many civic organizations, including B'nai B'rith and Business Networking International.  For several years he served the community as a volunteer Guardian Ad Litem and a Special Public Defender in the Dependency Division.  Currently he helped found and manage a local charity.

Born in Suffern, New York, Larry graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in political science in 1988. He graduated with his Juris Doctor from Stetson University Law School in 1991. He is a member of the Florida Bar and the Federal Bar for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida.  In 2009, Larry became Certified by the Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization as a specialist in the area of Marital and Family Law, an honor that is conferred upon only a small percentage of lawyers in Florida.
