Kenneth A. (Ken) Smith was born in Troup County, Georgia. He grew up in a working class family with his father being a policeman and his mother a secretary. He worked his way through both college and law school. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from LaGrange College in June of 1980. Then he attended the University of Georgia Law School graduating in March of 1983. He immediately became a member of the State Bar of Georgia. Shortly thereafter, he began practicing law in house with Southwire Company in Carrollton, Georgia. At Southwire Company he practiced both corporate and workers’ compensation defense law. In 1996, he left the Southwire legal department and was a co-founder of the law firm of Smith, Wallis & Scott, LLP, practicing in Carrollton, Georgia. Since its foundation the firm has represented thousands of injured Georgians. Ken only practices in the area of workers’ compensation, only representing injured workers. He has always been a member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia. He has been married to his wife Cindy Smith for the past 26 years. He has a daughter and three grandchildren. He is a member of the Georgia Workers’ Compensation Claimant’s Law Section.
