In a legal career spanning nearly three decades, David Smith has aggressively advocated the interests of injured plaintiffs from all 50 states. He has engaged in investigation, discovery and trial in multi-district litigation in the federal courts across the nation, as well as coordinated mass tort proceedings in state courts throughout California. He has served as an active member of the Plaintiff’s Management Committees for both the California Diet Drug JCCP in Los Angeles and the Tenet Healthcare JCCP in Redding, California.

As the result of his many significant settlements and verdicts in a wide range of personal injury cases, he has been selected for membership in ABOTA, the American Board of Trial Advocacy. He joined the firm as a partner in December 2005.

Mr. Smith’s recent notable activities include:

• Investigation and complex medical discovery in a significant number of cases in which the plaintiffs developed PPH (Primary Pulmonary Hypertension) after ingesting the diet drugs Pondimin and Redux. These efforts resulted in substantial recoveries for the plaintiffs and their families.
• He is also currently engaged in litigation involving asbestos induced mesothelioma lung cancer, medical malpractice, elder abuse and nursing home negligence, as well as product and premises liability.
• Testified at the California State Capital on behalf of the Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC) for the newly signed Radiation Safety Bill
