Kate Hutchins is a counsel in the firm's Litigation/Controversy Department, and a member of the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group. She joined the firm in 2001. Ms. Hutchins has experience in a variety of complex civil litigation matters and focuses on intellectual property litigation.
Practice
Ms. Hutchins has litigated patent disputes involving an array of fields, including matters involving pharmaceutical products, secure Internet transactions, GPS systems, electronic components of automobiles and business method patents. Ms. Hutchins has also participated in a variety of other matters at the trial and appellate levels, including complex commercial cases, appellate briefing in the areas of constitutional, antitrust and bankruptcy law and defense against allegations of securities fraud. She also has been a leader in the firm's pro bono efforts—including work on civil rights and political asylum matters—for which she received the John H. Pickering Award for Pro Bono Activities.

Ms. Hutchins is a member of the New York Intellectual Property Law Association.
