Nick is a leading Portland, Oregon-based attorney advising small and medium size businesses on developing corporate strategy, identifying opportunities for greater operational efficiencies, financial markets, debt restructuring, sustainability and green law, environmental/tax credits, real estate acquisition, development & construction and commercial litigation.
Prior to co-founding Slinde Nelson with partner Phil Nelson, Nick worked at Grenley Rotenberg Bragg Evans & Bodie PC, and Landye Bennett Blumstein LLP, where he honed his litigation skills and gained substantial knowledge about the ins-and-outs of construction defect and real estate issues, of both the transactional and litigation varieties.
As General Counsel and Vice President of Land Acquisitions & Development for a large real estate development company in Portland, Oregon, Nick helped identify acquisition targets, secure financing, and advance projects through the land use process while overseeing construction.
Nick was co-founder and CEO of Carbon Trader LLC. The experience with Carbon Trader expanded his sustainability and green law practice, assisting businesses in identifying revenue streams in the green economy and practicing socially responsible corporate behavior. In this capacity, Nick has also gained extensive experience in environmental tax credits, carbon credits, credit monetization and overall profit maximization strategies.
