S. Christopher Hunter is a lawyer in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area who takes the time to meet with individuals and families, asses their legal issues, educates them about their legal options, and then allows them to make an educated and informed decision regarding their legal issue. Once the client has decided on a course of action, Chris creates and enacts a comprehensive legal plan that is personalized to match each client’s individual needs and goals.
Chris enjoys assisting his clients with attaining their life goals, whether it involves solving a current legal issue, planning for retirement, protecting their assets, figuring out how to pay for long term care, protecting and preserving their assets, or assisting them with their plans of leaving a lasting legacy.
Over the past six years, Chris has helped over 1800 clients obtain their legal goals in his practice areas of: Estate Planning (Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney), Probate, Guardianships/Conservatorships, Elder Law, Medicaid Planning, VA Benefits, Landlord/Tenant Law, Criminal Law, Social Security Disability,Bankruptcy, Business Law ,and Family Law (Divorce, Child Support, Child Custody, Spousal Support).
Chris graduated from the University of Maine School of Law in 2006 and received a Bachelor of Arts in History from Franklin College in 2001. He was admitted to practice law in the State of Michigan in November 2006 and the United States District Court—Eastern District of Michigan in December 2006. Mr. Hunter is also a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Grand Rapids Bar Association, the Elder Law and Disability Rights Section, the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the Michigan State Bar, and the Senior, Real Estate, Criminal, and Family Law sections of the Grand Rapids Bar Association. In his spare time, he enjoys gardening, carpentry, reading, jogging and enjoying the great outdoors.
