Paige Hunsucker is the newest attorney to join the Terry, Terry and Stapleton law firm. Although she is not a family member, she has worked closely with the Terry family for many years, earning their confidence as both an attorney and mediator.
Paige grew up in West Tennessee, graduating from Germantown High School in 1987. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1991, with a major in Political Science. Focusing on a dream of becoming a lawyer, Paige began her law career by attending law school at the Cecil C. Humphreys College of Law at the University of Memphis, earning her Doctor of Jurisprudence degree in 1994. She was licensed to practice in Tennessee, passing the state bar examination in October of 1994, and in the United States District Court, Eastern Division, in May, 1995.
In the early years of her career, Paige worked in private practice from 1994 until 1998. She was later honored to serve as an Assistant District Attorney General in the Third Judicial District, from 1998-2005, working primarily in Hamblen and Hancock counties. During that time, she prosecuted thousands of felony and misdemeanor cases, trying everything from murder cases to criminal littering charges. It was also during this time that she developed a great respect for the Terry, Terry and Stapleton family and their desire to assist people in the community, when they worked together as opposing counsel in criminal cases.
After becoming certified as family mediator under the Rule 31 Supreme Court of Tennessee in 2008, Paige has concentrated primarily in family law cases, such as divorces, custody and parenting plan disputes. She has conducted nearly 600 mediations since being certified, but continues her family practice as well. Paige enjoys helping people at a time of need, and believes that is what she has most in common with her new firm. She is honored to be part of the Terry, Terry and Stapleton law firm and tradition. She and Denise Stapleton are practicing in the new Fountain Plaza office in Morristown.
