Hunter, Elizabeth E.

John O. Sitzler, Jr., was a name partner and is now of counsel to the firm. Mr. Sitzler is active in consultation and advice to the other members of the firm and staff. He was primarily active as a litigator of negligence and real property cases and in the field of municipal law.

Having graduated from Palmyra High School in June, 1943. He was immediately inducted into the Army at Fort Dix, New Jersey. He was eventually assigned to Canon Company, 354th Infantry Regiment of the 89th Infantry Division as a forward observer. He saw service in the European Theatre of Operation in France and Germany. Mr. Sitzler earned the combat infantry badge, the bronze star and two campaign stars. He was recently honored by the State of New Jersey with the award of the Distinguished Service Medal.

On return from the service in 1946, Mr. Sitzler applied to and was accepted at South Jersey Law School in their evening classes at the same time clerking for Honorable John R. DiMona and Senator John L. Morrissey.

In 1949, he was elected President of the Class of 1950 and in that year, graduated from Rutgers University School of Law, Camden.

In 1951, he was admitted to practice in New Jersey and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Mr. Sitzler was admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court in June of 1975. He was also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court on March 6, 1978.

Mr. Sitzler is a member Emeritas of the Burlington County Bar Association. He has also been and still is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association. In 1970 to 1971, he served as President of the Burlington County Bar Association.

During his 50 years as an attorney, Mr. Sitzler has served as a Municipal Court Judge in numerous Municipalities and also in others as the solicitor. He has also served as an Assistant County Prosecutor for Burlington County.
