Patrick Hughes joined NLdH in 2009 as an associate in the Property Subrogation Practice. Since joining NLdH, Mr. Hughes has successfully litigated numerous large-loss property subrogation cases involving fire losses, construction defects, contractor negligence and product defects throughout the United States. In addition, Mr. Hughes acts as national coordinating litigation counsel for his clients, advising on litigation and settlement strategies. In 2010, Mr. Hughes was named a "Rising Star" by Superlawyers Magazine, an award given only to the top 2.5% of young lawyers in the state.
Prior to joining NLdH, Mr. Hughes worked for two large Philadelphia law firms, concentrating his practice on commercial liability, products liability and insurance defense matters. During that time he represented international companies, insurers, self-insured entities and private business owners on all aspects of defending lawsuits from their inception through trial.
Mr. Hughes graduated from the Catholic University of America with Honors in 1999. He received his Juris Doctor from the Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware in 2003. While in law school, Mr. Hughes was an executive member of The Widener Law Review. In 2004, Mr. Hughes received his Masters of Law in Taxation from the Villanova University School of Law.
