George Howard's practice focuses on corporate restructuring, bankruptcy, and other insolvency-related matters. He has played an active role in Jones Day's representations of companies, secured lenders, asset purchasers, and other significant constituencies in distressed situations. In addition, he counsels clients on fraudulent conveyance, illegal dividend, preferential transfer, fiduciary duty, and corporate formalities issues. He also has experience negotiating strategic joint ventures and long-term supply agreements in the metals and mining industry.
George was substantially involved as debtor's counsel in the chapter 11 case of Metaldyne Corporation, in the representation of MBIA Insurance Corporation as a secured creditor in the chapter 11 cases of Forum Health and its affiliated debtors, and in the resolution of long-term supply contract disputes between Cliffs Natural Resources and a significant customer.
