Julia S. Howard received her law degree from the University of Tennessee in 1979 and from 1981 to 1983, served as Assistant Attorney General for the State of Tennessee. She joined Hodges, Doughty & Carson in 1983 and maintained an active trial practice until moving into an Of Counsel positions in 1999. Over the years she chaired various committees for the Knoxville Bar Association and served for several years on the Tennessee Lawyers Insurance Committee for the Tennessee Bar Association. She also served as chairperson of the Bench-Bar Committee of Tennessee Judicial Conference and was appointed by the Tennessee Supreme Court to serve as a member of the Judicial Performance Program Committee.
