ADAM P. SILVERMAN
Mr. Silverman focuses his area of practice on complex insolvency matters, including: representation of debtors or creditors in Chapter 11 and 7 proceedings; workout situations on behalf of financial institutions or borrowers; forbearance agreements; liquidations; collection disputes between commercial entities and/or individuals; assignments for the benefit of creditors; and all other facets of debtor-creditor relationships.
Prior to attending law school, Mr. Silverman earned a Masters of Business Administration from DePaul University where he concentrated in international business and studied abroad for a brief amount of time. Mr. Silverman earned his law degree with honors from the Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1998. During law school, Mr. Silverman was a judicial extern for the Honorable Joan B. Gottschall, United States District Court Judge for the Northern District of Illinois. After graduation, Mr. Silverman joined the firm as a first year associate and subsequently became a principal of the firm in January 2004. In 2006, Mr. Silverman co-authored the chapter entitled Representing the Secured Creditor and Adequate Protection in the Business Bankruptcy Practice handbook published by the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education. Mr. Silverman has been named a Rising Star in the Illinois Superlawyers publication for both 2008 and 2009 and was recently selected to serve a two year term as a member of the Bankruptcy Liaison Committee in the Northern District of Illinois, which seeks to promote cohesion between the Bench and the Bar. Mr. Silverman is also licensed to practice law in the State of Arizona.
