Barbara L. Horwitz, a partner with the firm, earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana, and a Legal Assisting Certificate from the University of Cincinnati. She obtained a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where she served on Law Review for two years. Two of her law review articles were selected for publication in the University of Cincinnati Law Review: "The Extinction of the Peremptory Challenge: What Will the Jury System Lose by Its Demise?" and "The Duty of Schools to Protect Students From Sexual Harassment: How Much Recovery Will the Law Allow?".
Mrs. Horwitz worked for six years as a legal assistant in Hamilton, Ohio, for Carl Morgenstern, Esq. and for Michael J. Sage, Esq. She then served as a Bailiff for the Butler County, Ohio, Common Pleas Court under Judge Michael J. Sage.
Mrs. Horwitz was an associate attorney in the Offices of Myron A. Wolf for fifteen years. During that period, she practiced in the areas of bankruptcy, personal injury, insurance defense, wills, probate, civil disputes, family law and general litigation. Mrs. Horwitz has practiced extensively before the Court of Appeals for the Twelfth District of Ohio, where her arguments have generally resulted in the Court ruling in her clients' favor.
Mrs. Horwitz strongly believes that her own personal involvement in all aspects of her clients' cases provides them with the strongest possible legal representation, and has never delegated meetings with clients, drafting of pleadings, or completion of bankruptcy forms to legal staff. She further strives to keep clients informed as to the status of their case, and to educate them to understand the legal processes with which they are involved.
Mrs. Horwitz is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Cincinnati Bar Association, Butler County Bar Association, and Warren County Bar Association. She is admitted to practice in the State of Ohio, as well as the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.
