John Taylor Hopkins IV is an associate attorney who has been practicing law in Georgia since 2001. Law is his second career, after ten years as a Mental Health Counselor, during which he worked in the areas of marriage and family counseling, juvenile counseling and with mentally ill adults.
Mr. Hopkins received his B.S. in Psychology from the University of Georgia and his M.S. in Community Counseling from Georgia State University. While attending law school at Georgia State University, he worked at the GSU College of Law Tax Clinic, where he represented low-income taxpayers in dispute with the IRS. He received the prestigious Trammel Award for his dedicated service to the Tax Clinic and its clientele.
Because of his unique background, Mr. Hopkins is qualified to handle a variety of difficult matters, particularly those relating to Family Law. His experience and demeanor allow him to deal with highly sensitive issues with compassion and professionalism. He seeks to find a positive resolution to any dilemma, however tumultuous, particularly where more than financial matters may be at stake. He recognizes that at times, it becomes necessary for a lawyer to work aggressively on behalf of his/her client and Mr. Hopkins does not retreat in the face of trial. He is prepared to go to court and advocate for his clients to the fullest extent of the laws and governing ethics.
