Katherine Shiu is a senior associate in the firm's Litigation/Controversy Department and a member of the Investigations and Criminal Litigation Practice Group. She joined the firm in 2006.

Practice

Ms. Shiu’s practice focuses on complex federal government investigations. She has represented major corporations in a variety of parallel criminal and civil investigations by US government agencies, including the Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission. Ms. Shiu has extensive experience with False Claims Act and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act investigations.

• Represented an insurance company in a large-scale False Claims Act investigation
• Represented a major defense contractor in a FCPA investigation
• Conducted FCPA due diligence for a global defense company related to a merger/acquisition
• Conducted an internal investigation for the Special Committee of a public company into allegations of stock options backdating and accounting irregularities
