Horacek, Kayla

Ms. Honkola is counsel in the Commercial Litigation Department.  She focuses her practice on complex commercial disputes in state and federal courts, including intellectual property, employment, environmental, education and construction law matters.  She previously was associated with the law firms Hale and Dorr, Edwards & Angell and Hare & Chaffin in Boston.

Ms. Honkola received her B.A. from Colgate University in 1986 and completed an internship at the International Labor Organization in Geneva, Switzerland as an undergraduate.  She received her law degree from Boston University School of Law in 1989, where she was a G. Joseph Tauro Scholar, a member of the Law Review and a participant in the Criminal Defender Clinical Program in Cambridge District Court.  She also attended the University of Minnesota Law School as a visiting student, where she interned at the law firm Faegre & Benson in Minneapolis.

Ms. Honkola is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and the District of Columbia.  Her community involvement includes serving on the Board of the Town of Duxbury Community Preservation Act Committee and as Trustee of Bay Farm Montessori Academy.  She is fluent in Finnish.
