Kenneth T. Short practices primarily in the areas of labor and employment law and civil and commercial litigation.
Mr. Short has experience representing employers in state and federal employment discrimination, wrongful discharge and retaliatory discharge lawsuits, and in proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Mr. Short has also represented unionized employers in labor disputes and grievance arbitrations. Mr. Short counsels employers on the development of practices to avoid litigation, such as the drafting and reviewing of employment policies, handbooks, and contracts.
Mr. Short also has experience litigating a variety of civil actions in both state and federal court including breach of contract actions, business torts, franchise litigation, oil and gas disputes, civil RICO actions and defense of electric utilities in personal injury actions.
Mr. Short received his Juris Doctor from The University of Kansas School of Law in Lawrence, Kansas with a Certificate in Advocacy. Mr. Short received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Kansas. While in law school, Mr. Short served as a Staff Editor and then the Business Manager of the Kansas Journal of Law and Public Policy. He finished in 3rd place in the school's annual Moot Court Competition and competed in the University of San Diego's National Criminal Procedure Moot Court Competition as a member of the school's Moot Court Council. Mr. Short also served as a student representative on the Academic Affairs Committee.
Mr. Short is a member of the Tulsa County Bar Association, Oklahoma Bar Association, and American Bar Association.
