I am often asked, "Why do you practice family law? Is it difficult to help your clients through what may be the worst time of their lives?"

My answers to these questions are simple. First, I practice family law because I enjoy being a helpful hand that someone can rely on in their time of need. During situations such as divorce, custody and child support, people often feel pressure and anger from those closest to them; their spouse, significant other, domestic partner, family, and even their children. It is easy to feel lost when going through these battles. I have confidence that I as well as my dedicated legal staff can be here for you and help provide as much support as possible. More than half of the struggles my clients face during this time in their life are purely emotional. It is easy to think that your world is crumbling and no one is there for you. I will be here for you to help guide you through this difficult time. Always remember, you are not alone!

Secondly, I practice family law to try to bring a level-headed opinion to the table to try to resolve issues. Through my experience and pure statistics, it is very apparent that cases can be resolved in a quicker, calmer, and more cost-efficient manner if both parties are able to work together on as many issues as possible. When beginning to contemplate moving forward with a family law case, whether it is divorce, custody, child support or a modification of a previous court order, it is not easy to think that you could work things out with the other person. This of course, is the main reason you may be seeking advice and representation. However, myself and my staff work to exhaust all avenues of dispute resolution that are available to try to keep your case in control and keep costs down. I often hear from my clients that mediation will not be successful; however over 90% of my cases settle at mediation. Again, more than half of this battle is because of the emotions that are involved. Another term for an attorney is a "counselor-at-law," which I believe is an accurate portrayal of my character and practice. I entered into family law to help others in need of this direction.

Finally, I entered family law to help children. A majority of my cases involve children, which is always the main focus between parents that are in custody or child support disputes. I work with my clients to provide an outsiders perspective on issues involving their children in order to help determine what their best course of action is to pursue. All parents have an instinct to protect their children from harm at any costs possible; however in family law it is best to focus on what the specific issue is and argue that issue instead of focusing on minor issues that the Judge may not consider. In my experience, I am able to help my clients determine these issues so we can mold a plan of action to follow throughout the case.

I have spent my entire career practicing in Pinellas, Pasco, Hillsborough, Polk, Manatee, Sarasota, and the surrounding communities.

My philosophy in building Tamara K. Holden, P.A. is that you are never alone. I believe in supporting this philosophy by making myself and my dedicated legal staff available to my clients as much as reasonably possible.

I do not take the same approach to every case, as each situation is very different than others. Instead, I take a personalized approach to your case. During our initial consultation I will discuss your current situation, your rights under the law, your goals, and what steps we need to take to get there. While I strive to settle my cases, this is not always possible due to varying circumstances. If pursuing your case requires a final trial before a Judge, I will aggressively fight for your rights. I am passionate and experienced in presenting your issues to the Judge. If trial is necessary, you and I will formulate a trial plan of action together so that you fully understand your trial process. Upon beginning our relationship when we meet at the initial consultation, you will know what your rights are, what we will need to do to get where you need to be, and how these steps will be carried out.

At the Law Offices of Tamara K. Holden, P.A., you will receive Aggressive Representation of your Legal Rights. You're Not Alone.
