In a career as an attorney that has spanned over 30 years, Gordon N. Shayne has a broad background concentrating in litigation or trial work. During these significant years as a prosecutor, he has tried hundreds of jury and non-jury trials, many including life and capital crimes, such as Capital Murder and Homicide cases, and Sexual Battery cases. As a criminal defense attorney, he has been appointed by state and federal judges to defend the rights of the accused. He has vigorously represented clients during every phase of the criminal justice process, from bond hearings to motions to suppress evidence. He has successfully challenged police misconduct that has resulted in a violation of citizen rights and defended the rights of the accused to suppress confessions obtained illegally. As a civil trial attorney, he has represented individuals injured through the negligence and malpractice of others, sought to protect parential rights in child custody cases, assisted and counseled hundreds of parties going through divorce, paternity, or family cases, and served the interests of hundreds of others in business and other walks of life, in need of experienced and aggressive legal representation.
