Laura Hinson is an associate at the Law Firm of Kathy McArthur whose practice areas primarily include wrongful death, auto wrecks and trucking collisions, premises liability and medical malpractice. 

Laura grew up in Macon, Georgia and gained exposure to the needs and rights of injured individuals at an early age.  Having a father with a dedicated practice helping injured people, Laura saw firsthand the fighter mentality required to help individuals who suffer injuries as a result of the negligence of others. 

After high school, Laura attended the University of Georgia, where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology and graduated magna cum laude, with honors.   Laura’s interests in the Spanish language and culture led her to volunteer at the Even Start Family Literacy program, where she taught English as a Second Language (“ESOL”) to Spanish-speaking parents of school-aged children.  After graduating from the University of Georgia, Laura postponed her plans to start law school and accepted an opportunity to teach ESOL to elementary-school children at a public school in Athens, Georgia.   

Laura returned to Macon to attend the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University on a merit scholarship.  Laura graduated magna cum laude and in the top five percent of her class.  While at Mercer, Laura was a member of the Mercer Law Review and was actively involved in the Moot Court Program.   In her third year of law school, Laura served as a student member of the William Augustus Bootle Inn of Court and received the Walker P. Johnson, Jr. Memorial Award, an award given to a graduating senior who has demonstrated excellence in litigation skills and a keen sense of professionalism and ethics.  Laura also received a number of other scholastic honors, including the Faculty Award for Outstanding Legal Writing and awards for excellence in civil lawsuits, legal professionalism and legal writing. 

Laura dedicates 100% of her practice to representing and advocating for the rights of injured individuals. 

Laura is an active member of the State Bar of Georgia, Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, American Association of Justice, and the State Bar’s Communication Committee.
