Hodges, I. Gregory

Chip Hinnant is a civil litigator in Charlotte, N.C. practicing in the areas of personal injury, worker's compensation, social security disability, general civil litigation, employment law and business litigation.

Chip graduated from the College of Charleston with a B.A. in Political Science, and then earned his J.D. from the Charlotte School of Law.

While in law school, Chip was a research assistant regarding a publication involving the Health Care Quality Improvement Act, and served as a teaching assistant for both Civil Procedure and Legal Writing courses. After later winning the National Law Review's student legal writing contest in the area of employment law, Chip was hired by the Honorable Robert N. Hunter Jr. to serve as a judicial intern at the North Carolina Court of Appeals. While at the Court of Appeals, Chip began working for Attorney Reagan Weaver in Raleigh at Capitol District Law Offices, assisting Mr. Weaver in employment law cases, and developed a passion for representing plaintiffs in civil matters. As a member of the Moot Court Board, Chip competed in the ABA's National Appellate Advocacy Competition on the subject of large group health insurance plans subject to ERISA, winning a 2nd best brief award and an award for being one of the competition's best advocates. In his final year of law school, Chip was hired by the Honorable Calvin Murphy to serve as a judicial extern for the North Carolina Business Court.

After initially being hired as a law clerk for Jetton & Meredith, PLLC, Chip was hired by the firm as an associate in August of 2012. Chip lives happily in Charlotte, N.C., and enjoys sports, reading, cooking, playing poker, and spending time with his puppy, Ruxin. He is soon to be married to his beloved fiance, Carrie Fisher.
