Lauren R. Hinzey joined Raleigh Divorce Law Firm upon passing the North Carolina Bar in September 2010.  Since that time, Lauren has been practicing primarily in the area of family law but has represented clients who have been charged criminally in conjunction with civil domestic violence actions.  Lauren practices in a variety of family law issues, including child custody, child support, spousal support, equitable distribution, domestic violence and negotiation of separation agreements.  She is experienced in litigation and also settlement procedures including settlement conferences and mediations.  Lauren understands that when client’s contact the firm they are going through one of the most difficult times in their life.  She is committed to guiding her clients through each step of their case to make the process as easy as possible while providing compassionate support along the way.

Lauren practices primarily in Wake County but also has experience litigating cases in Durham, Johnston, Cumberland and Lee Counties.  She will also travel to Orange, Harnett, Franklin and Granville counties.

Lauren graduated from Penn State University with a B.A. in History and Political Science in 2007 and is a 2010 graduate of Duquesne University School of Law located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  During her second year of law school, Lauren participated in the Civil and Family Justice Law Clinic where she was placed at KidsVoice, a public interest organization that represents abused, neglected, and at-risk youth in Allegheny County.  In this role, under attorney supervision, she served as a Guardian ad Litem for children in various court proceedings.  Following the end of her second year of law school Lauren received a fellowship through the Summer Public Interest Fellowship Program which permitted her to continue focusing her efforts on abused, neglected and at risk youth.  

Lauren currently serves on the Board of Director’s for the North Carolina Children’s Victim Center where she can continue her passion of helping children in need.
