When an extremely challenging case requires a high profile defense, it does not get much higher profile than Attorney Charles Norman Shaffer. His illustrious career spans five decades. At the age of just 26, he refused to be intimidated in the courtoom and prosecuted Jimmy Hoffa. The U.S. government quickly recognized him as a rising star and an attorney of tremendous integrity, courage and skill. He later gained national fame as defense counsel for Watergate Defendant John Dean, and he served as a member of the Warren Commission.
Today, Mr. Shaffer handles litigation cases-civil, criminal, and family-for clients in Maryland and Washington, D.C. The New York native is a former Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York and was a Special Assistant to the Attorneys General Robert Kennedy, Ramsey Clark, and Nicholas deB. Katzenbach before entering the private practice in Rockville.
Mr. Shaffer's proven track record and dedication to his clients makes him an extremely valuable member of the Premier Defense Group team. As Mr. Shaffer explained in a recent magazine article, "I was born to be a lawyer, I don't think I really could have done anything else, but be a lawyer… All of my cases hold great interest for me."
