A strong educational foundation
I am New Jersey attorney Keith Hirschorn. I graduated from James Madison University in Virginia, where I was on the Dean's List all four years and was inducted into the Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society in my senior year. I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in 1997.
An impressive law school record
For my law education, I went to Suffolk University Law School in Boston. I was an editor for the Suffolk Transnational Law Review, a distinguished competitor in the First Year Moot Court Competition, and a member of the Voluntary Prosecutor's Program. I was awarded my J.D. cum laude in 2001.
Valuable work experience
After law school, I began work as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Hon. Kevin G. Callahan in the Criminal Division of New Jersey Superior Court in Jersey City. I researched criminal law issues, prepared bench memoranda and motions, and mediated small claims disputes. Later, I became an Associate Attorney in the Short Hills office of the Budd Larner law firm, where I prepared and argued substantive motions in commercial litigation and white-collar criminal matters.
Established in private practice
In 2005, I opened my own office in Hoboken. My primary areas of practice are Jersey City criminal law, municipal law, and personal injury litigation. As a criminal defense attorney in Jersey City I am admitted to practice in all New Jersey courts including the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. I can also bring cases before the Supreme Court of the United States, and I serve as a Municipal Public Defender for Hoboken and Jersey City.
Nearly 10 years of successful trial work
I have tried approximately twenty-five jury trials to verdict in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Hudson, Passaic and Union Vicinages. I have also tried many Juvenile and Municipal Court cases throughout the State of New Jersey. I manage and maintain a full trial calendar, handling all aspects of criminal and civil litigation including client intake, depositions and motion practice.
