Benjamin W. Hill focuses his practice in the areas of federal litigation, civil rights, personal injury, complex commercial litigation, and criminal defense. Prior to joining the firm, Ben served as a law clerk for the Honorable Randolph F. Treece, Federal Magistrate Judge for the Northern District of New York, in Albany, New York.
Benjamin graduated cum laude from the Ohio State University Mortiz College of Law in 2006.
In law school, he focused his studies on criminal law, constitutional law, and civil/human rights. Benjamin was a 2005 Fulbright Scholarship recipient. During that year, he lived in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, while researching the effectiveness and human rights implications of an anti-gang law known as the “mano dura” (iron fist). In the summer of 2006, Mr. Hill served as a clerk at the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in San Jose, Costa Rica. Benjamin has traveled extensively in Central and South America and is fluent in Spanish.
Benjamin lives with his wife and daughter in Albany, where he is an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
