Brian Selden represents a cross-section of the nation's largest companies in complex civil and commercial litigation and class action defense, as well as in criminal, regulatory, and internal investigations. Brian's class experience spans a variety of substantive legal areas, including consumer and warranty class defense, shareholder disputes, and employment litigation under state and federal laws. He also has assisted technology, pharmaceutical, and manufacturing companies resolve contract disputes up and down their supply chains.
Brian's recent work includes representing a major insurance company in congressional and criminal investigations related to claims-handling in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and defending companies including Bank of America, Lowe's Home Improvement, and Wal-Mart Stores from consumer fraud, Consumer Sales Practices Act (CSPA), and unfair competition claims in multiple jurisdictions. Brian also recently represented Cardinal Health and Deloitte & Touche in defense of securities and shareholder derivative claims. He has been involved in public contract disputes and tax litigation and has counseled clients on issues such as corporate governance, document retention and electronic discovery, the valuation and minimization of litigation risks, open records and sunshine laws, warranties, releases, internal ethics guidelines, and consumer protection laws.
A two-time appointee to the Ohio Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism, Brian is a regular speaker on class action defense, electronic discovery, and professionalism in the bar.
