Allison Hester-Haddad is a senior associate in the Litigation/Controversy and Corporate and Transactional Departments, and a member of the Bankruptcy and Financial Restructuring Practice Group. Ms. Hester-Haddad is also on the Women's Leadership Initiative Committee and the Associates Communications Task Force Committee. She joined the firm in 2009.
Practice
Ms. Hester-Haddad’s practice has involved complex federal government investigations. She has represented major corporations in a variety of parallel criminal and civil investigations by US government agencies, including the Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Ms. Hester-Haddad has also represented clients in bankruptcy and insolvency-related litigation. She has assisted creditors and third parties in defending against litigation claims ensuing from complex and sudden bankruptcies.

- Represented an insurance company in a large-scale False Claims Act investigation.
- Participated in the internal investigation of a major pharmaceutical corporation into marketing practices and FCPA compliance.
- Represented a major financial institution in an FCPA investigation.
- Conducted FCPA due diligence for a global defense company related to a foreign defense contract.
- Defended an individual in civil rights litigation in various aspects, including taking depositions, preparing written discovery and drafting motions and other filings.
- Represented an individual in a criminal appeal.
- Represented insurers with respect to various issues arising from bankruptcies out of their insureds.
- Represented swap counterparties in a large financial services firm’s bankruptcy and related litigation involving bankruptcy law’s treatment of swap agreements.
- Defended a major financial institution in litigation arising out of the bankruptcy of its former client, which involved the bankruptcy law’s treatment of margin transactions.
- Represented a corporation in negotiation of outstanding tax liability with the District of Columbia and advised the corporation on potential bankruptcy relief.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Hester-Haddad was a Lecturing Fellow at Duke University School of Law.
