Heverin, Timothy J.

Gabriel J. Hermann is a founding partner of Insler & Hermann, LLP.  He began practicing Disability Law in 1997, and has a proven track record representing thousands of disabled claimants over the course of his career. Gabe earned his B.A. from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, and his J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law of Yeshiva University, New York. He worked as a prosecutor for several years at the Brooklyn Family Court Division of the New York Corporation Counsel’s Office, followed by several years working for a large, national disability firm. In 1999, Gabe began working with Lew Insler, a well respected Disability Law attorney in Westchester.  Insler and Hermann, LLP was formed in 2003 when Gabe and Lew became partners.

Gabe is involved with the community, giving lectures to the general public as well as legal groups and disability-related organizations. He has appeared twice on CNNfn in segments on disability law.

Gabe is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York, and in the Federal District Courts for the Southern Districts of New York and the District of New Jersey. Gabe is President of the New York Social Security Bar Association (NYSSBA), and a member of the American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, and the Bergen County Bar Association. He is also a Sustaining Member of the National Association of Social Security Claimants Representatives (NOSSCR), and attends the NOSSCR conferences regularly.

Gabe not only handles Social Security Disability claims, but also Long Term Disability claims, both under ERISA and involving privately purchased long-term disability policies. He is also one of a few attorneys who represent clients seeking benefits from the Railroad Retirement Board.

In his free time Gabe enjoys outdoor activities and classic movies. He and his wife Miriam live in Bergen County, New Jersey with their three children.
