Justin M. Scott represents employees in all areas of employment law, including claims of age, race, gender, pregnancy, religion, national origin and disability discrimination and retaliation, harassment, FMLA interference and retaliation, and wage and hour disputes. Justin has extensive experience in the area of wage and hour law, having litigated numerous Fair Labor Standards ("FLSA") collective actions and related state-law class actions in multiple jurisdictions. He also has experience with breach of contract actions related to employment agreements and has drafted, and litigated the enforceability of, restrictive covenants.
Prior to joining Buckley & Klein, Justin primarily represented employers in defense of employment claims, including discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims, as well as misclassification and "off-the-clock" claims under the FLSA and related state law. As a defense attorney, Justin worked for both a boutique employment law firm and a large nationwide employment law firm.
Justin graduated, with honors, from Emory University School of Law in 2007. He received his B.A. from Haverford College in 2004.
Justin is admitted to practice in Georgia, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia, and the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits.
Justin is a formerly-decent basketball player and attempts both tennis and golf in his spare time.
