Krista Schwartz prepares and tries high-tech intellectual property cases, focusing on patent and copyright litigation. Her substantial trial experience and technical skill allow her to effectively manage complicated technical cases with an eye towards summary judgment and trial.

Krista has significant trial experience in electronics-related matters. She recently represented The MathWorks, Inc. in a copyright action arising from a competitor's release of a clone of the client's successful MATLAB software product. Krista handled the case from the filing of the complaint through trial. She succeeded in getting the competitor's counterclaims dismissed prior to trial and the jury found in favor of MathWorks at trial, awarding all requested damages.

Krista has litigated cases involving a wide range of technologies, including image manipulation software; MPEG and JPEG compression; medical imaging; internet and World Wide Web systems and protocols; cellular telephony; mathematical computation, analysis, and visualization software; object-oriented software; computer networking; semiconductor circuitry, fabrication, and packaging; high-definition televisions; video-on-demand systems; and medical devices.

Prior to attending law school, Krista worked for AT&T Bell Labs for seven years in a variety of areas, including desktop video conferencing, computer software, computer networks, operating systems, and computer architecture. Krista is a named inventor on more than 20 AT&T-NCR U.S. patents related to her work with desktop video conferencing.
