Mr. Henshaw is an associate with Lanza & Smith and is experienced in all phases of business and real estate litigation, including civil litigation.
Prior to joining Lanza & Smith, Mr. Henshaw ran his own small law firm handling a wide variety of cases ranging from landlord/tenant disputes to complicated business disagreements including topics such as securities fraud, breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty. Mr. Henshaw has been general counsel to a condominium homeowners association, and has served as a court appointed commissioner in judicial foreclosures.
Mr. Henshaw graduated from the University of California, San Diego in 1993 with a B.S. in Ecology and received his Juris Doctorate from University of California, Los Angles School of Law in 2002. While at UCLA, Mr. Henshaw served as an Editor of the UCLA Law Review. Mr. Henshaw completed his first year of law school at Vermont School of Law where he received the American Jurisprudence Award in Contract Law and served as Judicial Intern to the Honorable Denise Johnson, Associate Justice of the Vermont Supreme Court. His class rank was 2 of 168. He is admitted to practice before all California state courts and the United States District Court for the Southern District of California, as well as all Hawaii State Courts.
Mr. Henshaw was initially trained as a litigator at Best, Best & Krieger in San Diego, a 200 lawyer full service law firm -- beginning in 2002. He has successfully handled sophisticated litigation matters through resolution, including actions involving real estate, partnerships, contracts, foreclosures, intellectual property, commercial disputes, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, insurance, unlawful detainer, general business matters, and more. He has experience in state and federal courts, including appellate matters.
