Matthew J. Healy concentrates his practice in the area of personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, products liability and workers' compensation. He is a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Workers Compensation Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice.
Matt has authored and co-authored legal articles concerning personal injury and products liability that have been published by the American Association for Justice, the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education and the Irish American News.
Prior to joining the Healy Law Firm, Matt was an associate in a Chicago defense firm where he concentrated his practice in representing doctors and hospitals in medical negligence litigation.
Prior to defense practice, he served clerkships in the Cook County Circuit Court, drafting legal opinions for judges in the Chancery Division, in the Law Division-Commercial, and in the Law Division-Motions.
Matthew is a Cum Laude Graduate of the University of Notre Dame, B.A., 1996. He received his law degree from the University of Illinois School of Law in 2003, where he was a member of the Trial Team and Environmental Moot Court. During law school, Matt interned for the Illinois Speaker of the House’s staff of attorneys in Springfield and law clerked in the Champaign County Circuit Court.
During college and before law school, Matt operated heavy construction equipment as a Local 150 operating engineer.
