Thomas H. Schelly is Of Counsel to Kevin A. Lipeles. His practice focuses on general business and insurance litigation in state and federal courts, including disputes related to insurance coverage, construction defect, professional liability, contract law, employer liability, intellectual property, personal injury, and premises liability. In particular, he has developed substantial experience representing design professionals, attorneys, business managers, and insurance brokers and agents in professional liability, insurance and business litigation matters.

Mr. Schelly is also well versed in entertainment litigation, and as a former music studio broker for a world-class recording studio NRG Recording, he brings industry insight to his representation of clients, which have included entertainment business management firms. Recently, he represented several of former celebrity private investigator Anthony Pellicano’s wiretapping victims.

Prior to joining Mr. Lipeles, Mr. Schelly practiced with Morris Polich & Purdy LLP and Jampol, Zimet, Skane & Wilcox. Notable accomplishments include settling a breach of contract claim for less than 20 percent of the original claim, and successfully defending a landowner against a negligence lawsuit when a landslide caused significant damage to the plaintiff’s home.

Mr. Schelly received his J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
