Ashly E. Scheufele joined Sally & Fitch LLP as an associate in 2008.  Since joining the firm, Ashly has worked primarily in the areas of international arbitration, business litigation, and real estate and land use litigation. 

In 2009, Ashly was part of a team of attorneys representing a Chinese technology company in proceedings before an arbitrator appointed by the International Centre for Dispute Resolution.  The case was bifurcated and settled after the liability phase.  The client writes:

"[Sally & Fitch LLP] recently represented our company in a complex international arbitration case involving the unlawful termination of a license agreement by a listed USA corporation.  This recently settled and included a multi-million dollar payment to us.

In addition to international arbitration, Ashly handles general business litigation in the state and federal courts.  Her recent cases include a dispute involving the valuation of a minority shareholder’s stake in a closely-held corporation, a complex contract dispute that included M.G.L ch. 93A claims, and an employment matter involving Massachusetts Wage Act and trade secrets claims.

Ashly also represents clients involved in land use and real estate litigation, including zoning appeals before local land use authorities.  She has appeared several times before the Boston Zoning Board of Appeal on behalf of clients. 

For the last four years, Ashly has been recognized as a “Rising Star” in the “Massachusetts Super Lawyers” list published by the Thomson Reuters rating service in Boston Magazine.  The Rising Star award is limited to 2.5% of lawyers in Massachusetts under the age of 40 who have been practicing for less than 10 years.

Ashly is a graduate of Boston College Law School (J.D., 2007) and Boston College (B.A., cum laude, 2004).  During law school, Ashly was a regional finalist in the European Law Moot Court Competition and was a David Cavers legal intern at the Conservation Law Foundation in Boston.  As an undergraduate at Boston College, Ashly was on the editorial board of the university’s independent student newspaper, The Heights. 

Ashly was recently elected the Vice President of the Needham Community Farm, which is an educational farm dedicated to promoting sustainable living and healthy eating through hands-on education and organic farming.
