Ivan J. Schell was admitted to practice in 1974. A founding member of RWSV in 1996, Mr. Schell’s extensive experience representing employers and institutional plan sponsors in the design, implementation, operation and termination of both tax qualified and non-tax qualified deferred compensation programs has repeatedly earned Mr. Schell the distinction of being named one of the best employee benefits attorneys in the nation from the “Best Lawyers in America” publication.

Mr. Schell earned his B.S. in business administration from Butler University and his law degree at the University of Michigan, where he served as an editor of the Journal of Law Reform.

In addition to his employee benefits practice, Mr. Schell represents more than 120 medical professional groups in all matters including the formation of practice groups, the merger and acquisition of practice groups and medicare fraud and abuse compliance. Mr. Schell also maintains a significant estate planning practice covering a broad range of client needs, including ownership transition plans for closely held family businesses and professional practices.

Mr. Schell is currently chairman of the board of the Buckhorn Children’s Foundation. He is a member of the Kentucky, Louisville and American Bar Associations.
