Harwood, Jennifer L.

Ms. Harvey is an experienced trial lawyer concentrating in employment law, business and commercial litigation, and professional liability and general negligence cases. Ms. Harvey's employment practice includes regular appearances before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and state and federal courts in connection with all varieties of discrimination and harassment claims. She also has extensive experience with other types of employment litigation, such as those involving breach of contract, wrongful termination, intentional or tortious interference with contractual or advantageous business relations, defamation and violations of various state and federal statutes. In addition, she is experienced in representing clients during various stages of employment disputes, including investigations, internal appeals, mediations, arbitrations, and unemployment hearings. She has a great deal of experience in handling employment cases involving physicians and other healthcare providers, and she regularly provides consultation and advice with respect to such issues as contract formation and termination, non-compete and severance agreements, and the rights of employers and employees under the Family and Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disabilities Act and other state and federal statutes. She also provides representation in the field of commercial and business litigation, including claims for breach of contract, indemnification, and statutory claims, such as those brought pursuant to the Massachusetts consumer protection statute.

Ms. Harvey also represents physicians, dentists, nurses, hospitals and other healthcare providers, as well as architects, engineers and attorneys, in the defense of malpractice and other negligence claims. Her experience ranges from smaller claims to catastrophic events, and involves the full range of damages, from property damage to economic and contract losses and various physical and emotional injuries to death.

Ms. Harvey was selected, based on a vote of all licensed attorneys in our state and a review by an independent blue ribbon panel, as a "Super Lawyer", as published annually in Boston Magazine, 2004-2010; and voted "Top 50 Female Lawyer", 2006.
