Daniel W. Hartman graduated from the University of Maryland, College of Engineering with a B.S.C.E., degree in civil engineering. He received his law degree from the St. Thomas University School of Law and his Masters of Law from the George Washington University, National Law Center. Dan is licensed as an attorney in both Florida and the District of Columbia.
Prior to and during his attendance at law school Dan worked as a consulting engineer. His experience as an engineer ranged from inspection duties on large-scale construction projects in and around Washington, D.C., to preparing utility detailed valuations for investor-owned utilities in Florida.
Dan has extensive knowledge of environmental and real-estate related law. He has advised public and private clients on a broad spectrum of issues ranging from land use, zoning, the adoption and enforcement of ordinances, to eminent domain proceedings and coastal construction permitting. In addition, Dan is very active with environmental resource permitting, water use permitting, utility formation and regulation, real estate development, and construction law.
The experience Dan gained as a consulting engineer has provided him with insight into local government, environmental, utility, and construction issues faced by the Firm's clients. Strong ties with the regulated and engineering communities provide him with added depth and the ability to address legal, technical and practical issues that arise during all types of representation.
Dan is a member of The Economic Club of Florida, the American Society of Civil Engineers, and The Order of the Engineer.
