Carroll James Harris is Special Counsel in the Business Department in the Firm's Baltimore, Maryland office, where he concentrates his practice on all aspects of general corporate and securities matters, including business planning, venture capital financing, mergers, acquisitions and reorganizations. Mr. Harris has extensive experience in negotiating and drafting acquisition agreements, partnership and limited liability company agreements.
Mr. Harris serves on the Firm's Diversity Committee and is a former Vice Chair of the Firm's Summer Expedition Program. He is a member of the American, National, Baltimore City and Prince George's County Bar Associations. Mr. Harris is also a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, Section of Business Law, where he is the Vice Chair of the Emerging Companies Committee. He also serves as an At-Large Member of the Business Law Section Council.
Mr. Harris is also active in several community service organizations, including the United Way of Central Maryland, where he is a member of the Baltimore's Success By 6® Committee and the Baltimore Mentoring Partnership.
Mr. Harris is the co-author of ""Corporate Takeover Bill Protects Stockholders,"" Baltimore Business Journal (April 16, 1999).
Prior to joining Saul Ewing, Mr. Harris had more than nine years of business experience with Lockheed Martin, Inc., the Smithsonian Institution and the United States Peace Corps.
