Alyssa Sandman is an Associate at Belkin Burden Wenig & Goldman, LLP. Ms. Sandman's practice centers on the regulation of real property in New York City, including issues of rent stabilization, rent control, hotel stabilization, single room occupancy (SRO), demolition, zoning/land use, loft law, and property tax exemption/abatement programs such as 421a and J-51.
Ms. Sandman represents real property owners before the New York State Division of Housing & Community Renewal (DHCR), the New York City Department of Housing Preservation & Development (HPD), the Environmental Control Board (ECB), the Department of Buildings (DOB), and the City and State Human Rights agencies. She has also represented owners in proceedings challenging the determinations of these agencies.
Ms. Sandman helps clients manage their properties or prepare them for sale by bringing them into compliance with the applicable city and state regulations. She also assists clients with the evaluation of potential acquisitions by conducting due diligence review and analysis with respect to regulatory compliance.
