Laura Sanborn is counsel in the Tax Department at WilmerHale. She joined the firm in 2007.
Practice
Ms. Sanborn has counseled clients extensively on the design and implementation of executive compensation arrangements and other general benefits issues, as well as the employee benefits aspects of mergers and acquisitions. She has worked with plan sponsors for multinational companies, small business and tax-exempt organizations on the formation, review and execution of qualified retirement plans, welfare benefit plans, nonqualified deferred compensation arrangements and equity-based compensation agreements.
In addition, Ms. Sanborn has advised clients on compliance issues arising under the Internal Revenue Code, COBRA, HIPAA and ERISA. She has also represented clients before the Internal Revenue Service, the Department of Labor and the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation to resolve issues related to the administration of employee compensation and benefits plans.
