Arthur S. Hardy is a shareholder in the firm. Art received his undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 1984 and his law degree, with high honors, from the University of Florida in 1987. While in law school, Art was a member of the University of Florida Law Review and the Order of the Coif. Prior to beginning private practice, he spent two years serving as a judicial clerk to the Honorable William Terrell Hodges, United States District Judge, in Tampa, Florida.
Art is a graduate of the Sarasota County public school system who, after college, law school, and his clerkship, has returned home to take primary responsibility for the firm's representation of the School Board. In addition to providing many of the daily legal needs of the School Board, Art is involved in both the School Board's collective bargaining with its 5,000+ employees and all litigation involving the Board. A Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer, Art is also actively involved in the firm's employment and personal injury cases.
Art has also taken the opportunity to become involved in a number of public service and community activities. Art was honored to serve as Special Counsel to Senator Bob Graham in Washington D.C. in the fall of 1999. He has served on the Housing Authority of the City of Sarasota, as Chairman of Leadership Sarasota, as a member of Mote Marine Laboratory's Advisory Council, and is currently a Master Emeritus of the Judge John M. Scheb American Inn of Court, and a Past President of the Sarasota County Bar Association.
Art and his wife, Ann, have two children.
