Hanssen, Jack C.

Laura is our Family Law specialist.  Laura practiced as a Guardian ad Litem for the State of Utah representing children in divorce and custody cases for over 4 years before deciding to go into practice and work for Just Law, PLLC.  Prior to that she worked for Utah Legal Services in St. George representing clients involved in custody and divorce cases.  Laura has also practiced in the areas of Immigration, Juvenile Court, Social Security, and Criminal Law.  Laura continues to practice as a Private Guardian ad Litem representing children.  Laura loves the practice of law and hopes to help families through this difficult time in the best way possible.  

Laura graduated Sum Laude from the University of Utah with a B.S. in Political Science and a B.S. in Psychology. She attended Brigham Young University School of Law and spent a semester abroad in Budapest, Hungary studying International Law. 

Laura is licensed to practice law in Utah before all Utah State Courts, including the Utah Supreme Court, and the Federal District Court for the District of Utah.  She is an active member of the Utah Trial Lawyers Association, the Women Lawyer's of Utah and the Family Law Section of the Utah State Bar.  Laura has completed her Basic and Advanced Domestic Mediation Training and is in the process of becoming certified as a Court Approved Mediator.  Laura is also a member of the Collaborative Law Group of Utah. 

Laura has 2 beautiful children and two step-children and a wonderfully supportive husband.  She enjoys many hobbies including: skiing, rock climbing, Latin dancing and cooking.
